The bar chart demonstrates the top three countries that manufacture pineapple to export to the world between 2009 and 2019, while the pie chart reveals a breakdown of pineapple's cost to the customer during 2019.
Overall, it is noticeable from the bar chart that country A saw a significant rise in metric tonnes of world pineapple exports in 2019, whereas there was a small change in country C in the same year. In terms of the breakdown of the costs, the proportion of distribution and retail accounted for a large share of the cost of each pineapple.
In 2009, country A's figure for pineapple exports was roughly 1 million before it experienced a considerable increase with over 10 million in 2019. Country C also witnessed a rise; however, it was negligible at about 0.5 million within 2019. In contrast, after producing nearly 5 million pineapples for exporting in 2009, country B's figure underwent a twofold decrease, staying at around 1.8 million in 2019.
The percentage of distribution and retail, and profit which were 35% and 18%, respectively, together accounted for more than a half of the total cost each consumed pineapple. The two lowest figure was recorded for the proportion of producer and export costs, with 5% and 4%, respectively. The remaining categories comprise the other three data, ranging from 10% to 16%.
