The chart below shows the amount of leisure time enjoyed by men and women of different employment status.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The following chart illustrates how much leisure time which was enjoyed by men and women who had distinctive employment status in 1998-1999.
As can be clearly observed from the chart, five distinct employment status of full-time employed, part-time employed, unemployed, retired, and housewives were surveyed. First of all, females whom were considered as part-time employers or housewives, didn’t have male counterparts. The former group had around 40 hours as leisure time in a week, while the number in latter group was nearly 50 hours.
Turning to other three groups, in both unemployed and retired people, the same pattern was observable. Males had far more leisure time (more then 80 hours) then unemployed or retired females with approximately 70 hours. The story of full-time workers was downright different. Leisure time of males in this group was about 50 hours, which was more than females’ leisure time (less than 40 hours).
Overall, it is clear from the chart that individuals who engaged in full-time jobs had the least amount of leisure time, whether men or women. On the other hand, the maximum amount belonged to retired or unemployed males or females. Housewives and female part-timers were placed between these groups in terms of the amount of leisure time they had in 1998-1999.
