The chart below shows the amount of money per week spent on fast food in Britain. The graph shows the trends in consumption of fast food.
The diagram illustrates how British consumed weekly three types of fast food including hamburger, fish and chips and pizza over the period of 20 years since 1970.
Looking at the graph, it is obvious that the change in the amount of fish and chips and hamburger experienced a similar upward trend while there is an apposite trend in pizza. In addition, the consumption of fish and chip in 1990 registered the leading position among all.
At the beginning, fish and chips was approximately 100, smaller than pizza and higher than hamburger. 10 years later, in 1980, the consumption increased to 150 and reached to peak at 500 in the year of 1990. Moreover, hamburger started with 50, slightly rose to 100 in 1985 and 300 in 1990.
In contrast, the data of pizza was 300 in 1970, which was three and five times higher than fish and chips, and hamburger, respectively. The figure then gradually fell by 100 to 200 in the next 15 years, before saw a light rise in 1990.
