The given line graph well illustrates how often were three various types of crime (burglary, car thieft and robbery) in Newport happened, in number of incidents, from 2003 to 2012. It can be clearly seen that there are two main trends in this graph: downward and unstable.
In details, burglary was the most occured crime in 2003, with 3500 incidents, respectively. It then rose to 3700 incidents one year later, before falling down dramatically to 1100 in the year of 2008. It then had a slight growth to nearly 1500 in 2009 and remained unchanged until the end of the period.
Meanwhile, car theft occurred 2700 incidents in the first two years, and then had a sharp decrease to almost 2000 in 2006. Afterwards, there was a gradual risen in car theft activities and it ended up with over 2500 in the year of 2012. Lastly, robbery started above 500 incidents in 2003, was the lowest among three crimes. It was fluctuated between the range of 500 and 1000 in the whole period.
