The line graph below demonstrates the difference that took place in three various regions of corruption in Newport city centre from 2003-2012.
In general, the difference between the changes in the three various directions of crime is quite significant and these are burglary, car theft and robbery(theft from the person).
Between 2003 and 2005, the number of burglary increased from 3000 to 4000. And this number dramatic fell in 2008(1000-1500). However, it grew by 300 accidents and remained stable till 2012. Moving ahead, the car theft was steady level of crime from 2003 to 2004. Then, it was fluctuation level in 2005-2009 and reached about 2250 in 2010. And it was increased to 2700 in 2012 as compared, robbery reached its peak point in 2005, however which was 900 cases and decreased back to 500 incidences in same intial year of level in 2012.
Overall, the rate of burglary declined sharply. The level of robbery remained constant in all year. Moreover, car theft raised and had the biggest number of incidences in 2012
