The Chart below shows participation in certain leisure activities by children in Australia
The given bar graph compares the proportion of boys and girls in the age-group 5 to 14 years who took part in five given leisure pursuits in Australia.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that among all the free time activities, the most liked one was watching tv/videos. Although girls were less active in the majority of the activities, art and craft recorded more number of girls than boys.
According to the given illustration, leading in the chart was the activity of watching tv/video, which reported a similar proportion(100%) among both the genders. After that came electronic/computer games in which four out of 5 boys appeared, compared to three out of 5 girls.
Furthermore, almost 7 in 10 boys preferred to be part of bike riding that was undertaken by just 60% of girls. Also, girls did not seem to be more active in skateboarding as 10% fewer girls showed up as compared to 40% boys. However, a contrasting trend with a noticeable difference was witnessed in art and craft activity, where girls took the lead by 15% as opposed to only 40% of boys.
