In general, all the nations had the number of women in council rose up throughout a period of 12 years with different growing rates.
In 2000, Germany had the highest percentage of female members of parliament at about 33%. Ranking second and third were Italy and France with nearly 26% and 25%. These figure then gradually went up to almost 36%, 40% and 33% in 2012, respectively.
The data of Belgium and UK were far lower than three above countries with about 17% to Belgium and only 3% to UK in 2000. Over the period of 12 years, the percentage of female members of council in Belgium fluctuated and slightly went up to 23% in 2012. In the meantime, UK witnessed a dramatic increased from about 3% to exactly the same number of Belgium of almost 23%. The percentage gap between 2 countries were shorter then almost disappeared in 2012.
