The chart below shows the percentage of the population in the UK who consumed the recommended daily amount of fruit and vegetables in 2002, 2006 and 2010.
The bar chart indicates the proportion of the UK people consuming the amount of recommended fruit and vegetables on a daily basis in three separate years (2002, 2006 and 2010 respectively) according to age and gender.
Overall, it is apparent that females was the dominant age group, capturing the highest figures of the total, whilst children had an opposite pattern. Also, noticeable that all went up and down continuously during the given shown.
Looking at the graph in more detail, the consumption of women remained relatively stable at almost 28 percentage at the top spot. This was followed by, males made up approximately 24 percentage, while children accounted for a half of women.
The graph shows clearly that women constantly stood out when reaching the highest point of nearly 32 percentage in 2006. Over the span of a four-year period between 2002 and 2006, before shrinking suddenly, with the figures being about 13-16 percentage in 2002, all age groups experienced a quick surge.
