The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
The chart illustrates the outcomes of the survey on the residents’ coffee and tea purchasing and consuming frequency in five different Australian cities. As can be seen from the bar chart, the percentages of people going to a coffee store or tea in the last 4 weeks are the highest in all surveyed cities, except for that in Adelaide. Moreover, Melbourne has by far the biggest percentages of coffee and tea consumption.
In particular, the figure for people getting to the coffee shop in a 4-week period accounts for over 60% in Sydney, which is about 15% and 17% higher than that of people buying instant coffee and fresh coffee respectively. The same gap happens in Melbourne, in which approximately 65% of people go to the cafe for usual purchases in the last 4 weeks while only nearly 50% and just over 40% get fresh or instant coffee in sequence. This is also the highest recorded figure in the survey. The trend between the surveyed categories in Brisbane and Hobart is nearly the same, albeit with a smaller difference between the percentages.
By contrast, Adelaide experiences a different trend in the habit of people where a half of the citizens get instant coffee in the last month, which is higher than that of the other two categories.
