The given bar chart illustrates the findings of a survey in terms of residents’ coffee and tea purchasing and consuming habits in five Australian urban locations.
Overall, the habit of drinking coffee or tea at a café occupies the largest percentages in the three categories within the five cities, except for Adelaide. It is also noticeable that the habit of buying ground coffee covers the lowest proportions.
Regarding the custom of going to the café to have a cup of coffee or tea, Melbourne constitutes the highest percentage, approximately 65%. Hobart and Sydney stand at the second and third level, at around 63% and 61% respectively. Coming fourth is Brisbane (about 55%) and Adelaide is in the final position (below 50%). Concerning the custom of purchasing instant coffee, Hobart stands on the top level, with below 55%. Brisbane comes second at around 53%. The remaining cities have the percentages ranging from around 45% to 50%. As regards the habit of buying fresh coffee, Sydney takes up the largest percentage (around 45%) and Melbourne the second place (around 43%). Hobart is ranked third, at under 40%. The other two cities have relatively similar proportions, at under 35%.
