The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of
telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-
2002.
The given bar chart details a comparative study stating the minute duration(in billions) as recorded from the telephone calls further classified as local, national and international-fixed line, and mobiles in the UK over a period of 8 years from 1995 to 2002.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that over the period as a whole, with a noticeable difference, the national and international, and mobile calls witnessed a significant rise. However, despite an erratic pattern, the local line was by far the busiest one among all.
According to the given illustration, to begin with, just over 70 minutes(billions) of local calls were recorded, which grew substantially over time, reaching a peak of 90 minutes(billions) in 1999. After that, the same observed a sharp plummet before plunging down to regain the initial figure.
By contrast, whilst the National and international lines started with half of the local calls, it experienced a dramatic surge, with 60 minutes(billions) in 2002. On the other hand, mobiles that stood at just 5 minutes(billions) in the start, rose marginally prior to soaring up by 15-fold in 2002.
