The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart illustrates how much time the UK residents spend on the telephone in three different call types during 1995 to 2002. Overall, throughout the surveyed period, the most phone calls were local calls used by fixed line and the gap between the three categories was narrowed with time.
First of all, local fixed line calls started it figure at 72 billion minutes in 1995, about twice as much as that of national and international calls made through fixed line. After that, this number experienced a steady increase, peaking at 90 billion minutes in 1999 before smoothly dropping back to its original statistic at 72 billion minutes in 2002.
As for national and international fixed line calls, although it kept being the half amount of that in local fixed line calls until 1999, the time English people spent on it gradually grew to 60 billion minutes in 2002. This trend also can be viewed in the category of mobile calls but in a more significant way as it firstly began at 4 billion minutes in 1995, and dramatically soared to 40 billion minutes in 2002, which were ten times more than its initial number.
