In addition, the US dropped sharply over the period. In March 1993, the percentage of the workforce in the US was 7.0. While the percentage in Japan was 2.5. There was three times the unemployment rate higher than in the US as in Japan. Between March 1998 and March 1999, the number of unemployment in the US was
equal to the unemployment rate in Japan at around 5%. Both the rates fluctuated and were approximately equal to 5% in March 1999. The unemployment rate in the US saw a drop, starting at 7.0% and ending at 5.0%. Whereas, Japan experienced a sharp increase, starting the period at 2.5% and ending at just 5%.
