Overall, the spending on items in the UK outnumbered those in France, except for the category of computers and perfume. In addition, the average amount of money spent on cars was the highest while that for perfume was the lowest in both countries over the time surveyed.
To be exact, the figure for cars took the first position in each country, at 400,000 and 450,000 pounds in France and the UK respectively. Regarding the category of books, the British spent around 100,000 pounds more than the French, 400,000 compared with 300,000 pounds. In terms of the cameras, the UK’s figure was over twofold France’s one, 350,000 as opposed to 150,000 pounds.
By contrast, money spent on the two remaining categories in the UK was lower than that in France. Concerning computers, the French spent about 50,000 pounds more than the UK, 400,000 in comparison with 350,000 pounds. With regard to the category of perfume, the figure for the UK stood at 140,000 pounds while that for France was higher, at approximately 200,000 pounds.
