Overall, the proportions gradually climbed over those years and women always had a significant presence.
Over four mentioned years, while never did half of men pass the driving exam, the corresponding figure of women was much better. Beginning at roughly a half in 1980 and slightly increasing in the next ten year before upsurging to the peak at nearly three quarters in 2000.
