Overall, while the figure for world forest in Africa is the highest, the opposite is true for that in Asia. Also, North America accounts for the largest percentage of timber, whereas Africa constitues the lowest figure.
In details, 27% of global forest is located in Africa, compared to 25% recorded in North America, whereas the rates of world forest in Europe and South America are 18% and 16%, respectively. Meanwhile, Asia comes in final with their green zone amounting to 14% of the total forest.
With regard to timber, North America heads the list with sharply 30%, which is 7% higher than the figure for South America. In the meantime, while the proportions of timber in Europe and Asia is 20% and 18%, correspondingly, the equivalent figures for Africa is the lowest one of the five countries, which is half as much as that for Asia.
