From the first chart, we can see that the percentage of washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner are growing between 1920 and 2019. Remarkablely, refrigerator has a repidly growth from 0% to 100% in 1920 to 1980 and stead in 100% till 2019. Vacuum cleaner experienced the similar growing path as refrigerator, from 30% in 1920 to 100% in 2000, raising 20% every 20 years. While as for the washing machine, starting at 40% of households in 1920, it experienced a slow growth to 70% in 1960 and dropped to 60% in 1980, after then it start to grow again and hit the highest point at about 75% in 2019.
The second chart indicated the drop trend on number of hours of housework per week. In 1920, it took people 50 hours of housework per week, and this number decreasing repidly to 15 hours in 2000 and then reach the lowest point at 10 hours housework per week.
