The pictorial charts demonstrate the food budget which has been spent on restaurant meals and home cooking, and the line graph enumerates the number of meals that were eaten in fast food and sit down restaurants.
It can be clearly observed in the pie charts that initially in 1970, 90% food budget was spent on homemade food, whilst restaurants had only 10% expenditure. Coming to 1980, the restaurants exhibited a slight rise of 5 %, and thereafter, this budget increased to 35% in 1990. Finally, it was similar to homemade food with 50%.
Starting with the line graph, it is interesting to note that in the starting year 1970, the utilization of number of meals was same in both the fast food and sit down meal, and further, the number of meals that were taken in sit down restaurant was higher than the number of fast-food meals during 1980; however, in the following years 1990 and 2000, the number of fast-food meals exhibited a rapid rise as compared to sit down restaurant meals.
Overall, the restaurant was the highest in the spending on food budget as well as in the number of meals throughout the different years.
