The bar charts compare water usage purposes around the world on the examples of North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South-East Asia. It can be clearly seen that, water usage for agricultural purpose takes the greatest proportion in 4 of 6 geographical regions.

If we approach comparison by the purposes, we can see that industrial usage of water in 3 regions: South America, Africa and Central Asia records its smallest proportion (respectively 10%, 7% and 5%), while agricultural use plays dominant role in all of them showing almost the same level by percentages 71%, 84% and 88%. The similar numbers also appears in South-East Asia in the water consumption percentages (81%). However, the smallest proportion here is the domestic purpose, which is just 5% more than industrial usage (7%).

The industrial purpose of water usage both in North America and Europe shows similarity taking the greatest proportion (respectively 48% and 53%). Domestic use in Europe records a quarter following after agricultural usage. The numbers here are not differing much from those in North America. Thus, domestic use is just 2% less, while agricultural usage is bit higher (39%) in Europe.

In conclusion, we can say that most of the water reserves in the world are used for the agricultural and industrial purposes.
