The bar charts provide information about the percentage of total world oil resources kept in different areas and their percentages of annual oil consumption.
Overall, it can be seen that areas which keep the least amount of oil have the biggest percentages of oil consumed in a year.
It is obvious from the data that significant amount of oil resources are held in middle east with more than half of total world’s oil resources. This figure for Canada and Central and South America are 14.84% and 8.12% respectively, whereas the percentage for Eastern Europe and Africa are around 6.4%. Other areas’ amount of held oil resources are just under 3%.
By contrast to the amount of stored oil, the majority of total world annual oil consumption comes to Asia (26.21%) and the United States (25.48%). The figure for Western Europe is 19.24%, which places this area into the third place. Meanwhile, Middle East, Central and South America, and Eastern Europe consume between 6% and 7% of oil resources, and other areas’ percentages do not exceed 4%.
