Overall, the proportion for each of the six courses changed significantly from 2010 to 2012, especially sports science course.
especially, in 2010 the social studies course was the most popular courses in England, which accounted over the quarter (27%), exhibiting a higher number than all categories provided. Until 2012, even though social studies was the one of the popular in uk, it was taken over by sport science course, and fell 6% to ending at over a fifth (21%) in total. While the period between 2010 and 2012 witnessed a dramatic increase in the percentage of students on sports science course from 11.9% to 25.5%, the quantity on nursing course plummeted from 25,7% to 14% at the same time.
The period between 2010 and 2012 showed a less change in three courses (psychology, carpentry and engineering). In comparison to the percentage of student on psychology, which saw an increase from 15,1% to 16% between 2010 and 2012, the quantity on carpentry fell from 8% to 5% at the same time.
it is also note worthy that the percentage of students of engineering saw an increase from 12,3% to 18,5% in two years, 2010 and 2012, exceeding the quantity on two courses(psychology and carpantry) which had only under 16%.
