The charts show the population of some of the world's largest cities and the world population. Summarise the information given and make comparisons where relevant.

The two charts illustrate the populace of megacities and the global population in millions and billions respectively. The first chart is for the year 1990 and 2030, while the second chart depicts the population of the world from the year 1980 to the year 2030 for village and city areas.

The bar chart displays that in the year 1990 Tokyo had around 16 million citizens, New York had around 14 million and Shanghai came in third at around 12 million. However, it is projected by the year 2030 Bombay and Jakarta will have inhabitants of around 26 million and around 19 million respectively.

In the line chart, it was observed that in the year 1980 around 2.9 billion were residing in rural areas which will grow to around 3.2 billion by the year 2030. On the other hand urban cities had the number of 1.5 billion in 1980 and is predicted to rise to around 5 billion by the year 2030.

In conclusion population in megacities will grow by 2030 while, there will be a rise in the population of urban residents by the year 2030.
