The diagram below shows the Australian Bureau of Meteorology collects up-to-the-minute information on the weather in order to produce to reliable forecasts.
The figure illustrates the process of weather forecast measured by the Australian Bureau of meteorology.
A closer look at the diagram shows that there are three stages before the weather information can be published to the society which can be done by using several technologies. The process is starting with collecting incoming information, analysing and predicting data, and finally, preparing the broadcast.
Looking at the first and second stage, there are three ways to collect information and three methods of describing the prediction. First able, the data can be gathered by using satellite. Satellite will provide the forecasters to take an earth surface picture illustrated from its space camera. The second way can be utilised by using radar. This technology can describe the information of the weather by using a radar screen or illustrating the weather location in a synoptic chart. Synoptic chart can be produced in another way by using drifting buoy.
Following next, all the collected data will be transferred to computers in which it will be set before the information is ready to be presented to the society. The weather broadcast usually can be found in television, radio, or a recorder announcement telephone.
