The diagram depicts the process of electricity production in a hydroelectric power station. Overall, it is noticeable that the process is divided into two different parts, day process and night process.

At day, the process begins with river water which flows into Upper-level Reservoir. The water then continues to pass the Dam which only opens at the Day, before moves to Power Station to generate electricity. Next, the turbines then operates Generator that turns the water into electricity which is then sent to National Grid through Power Lines. Lastly, the residual water then flows into the Low-level Reservoir.

At night, the process starts with water which moves from Low-level Reservoir. The water passes through Reversible Turbines which pumps water into High Level Reservoir. Next, the Flow of water then stays overnight at the pipe because the Dam only opens at Day. Lastly, when finally night turns into a day, the cycle begins again where water will flow to generate electricity.
