The diagram depicts the process of electricity production in Hydroelectric Power Station. Overall, the process is divided into two parts, daytime process and nighttime process.
During the day, the process starts with water from River which flows into High-level Reservoir. It then passes through the Dam, which only opens at day, to the Power Station to produce electricity. Next, the Reversible Turbines powers the Generator to turn water into electricity, which is then sent into National Grid through the Power Lines. Lastly, the excess water then flows to the Low-level Reservoir.
At night, the process begins with the water from Low-level Reservoir which flows through the Reversible Turbines, which pumps the water into High-Level Reservoir. The water then stays on the pipeline before the Dam opens again at daylight. Next, when night finally turns into day, the water passes the Dam to the High-level reservoir, and the cycle begins again where water will flow again to generate electricity.
