A brief analysis of the figure reveals that there are five linked stages in this process where the river water starts its travel for generating electricity from higher-level reservoir to the lower-one at the ending point.
The procedure commences with storing river water in a dam, equipping with a higher-level reservoir. To continue, there is an intake under the wall of the dam, which is open during day time and closed at night. In the next point, there is a generator in the station connected to reservoir turbines, which are responsible for operating the generator. Electricity producing from generator transports from power lines to the national grid.
Moreover, the reservoir turbines control the flow of water, passing water from the higher-level reservoir to generate electricity within the day time and pumping it back to that point through the night. It is also interesting to note that during the day water keeps in the lower-level reservoir for moving back behind the dam at night.
