The diagram explains different stages involved in the production of electricity from geothermal energy.
Overall, a geothermal power plant mainly consist of a well located under the ground level and a cold water reservoir, condenser, turbain, and a generator kept above the earth.
To begin with, the well is situated 4.5 km deep into the earth where it forms a geothermal zone inside comprising of hot rocks. The cold water from the tank first move into the well through an injection well where it get hoter on passing through the hot rocks. After this, hot water is pumped out of the well through the production well. The hot water thus produced then directly enter into the condenser outside the wall similar to cold water storage part.
Later on passing through the condenser water is changed into steams and are pushed into the turbines which result in rotation of the same. This inturn are in contact with the generator and produce electricity in response to the movemennt. Following this, the so generated electricity are taken out for distribution through electricity lines.
