The process of producing electricity in geothermal power plant is depicted in the diagram. Overall, the method includes seven steps. The process begins when cold water is pumped down and finishes when electricity is produced by a generator.
When looking at the diagram, initially, the cold water stored in a container is pumped down into the injection well which is 4,5 kilometers deep. Prior to being pumped up in the production well, the water runs through the geothermal zone containing hot rocks playing the key role in increasing the water temperature.
Moving on to analyse the remaining stages of the process, once the hot water comes to the condenser on the surface, it releases steam which follows the pipe to rotate the turbine connected to a generator subsequently. In the penultimate step, the turbine activates the electrical generator and simultaneously, electricity is produced and transferred into the electricity grid.
