The given diagram details the step by step procedure showing how electricity for homes can be produced with the help of solar panels.

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the entire process consists of five stages, starting with the absorption of sunlight by the solar panels, passes through the inverter, electrical panel, utility meter, and end by producing electricity via utility grid.

According to the given illustration, to begin with, first of all, the solar panels on the top of the roof traps the sun's energy before turning it into DC current. From here, the DC current is converted into the alternate current, which further controls the production of electricity.

Furthermore, the electrical panel, which is located next to the inverter, works to distribute the electricity into the entire house. Moving on, the function of a utility meter is to divert back the excess solar electricity to the grid. In the end, once the amount produced by the solar panels do not meet the household needs, then the utility grid runs to provide electricity to be used in the house.
