The diagram illustrates the life cycle of salmon from birth to matured adult.
In general, there are six stages in the process. It is also worth noting that the salmons spend their life in three locations which are river, estuary and the ocean and they have changes in their development.
At the first stage, salmons start to live in fresh water where the adult fish can lay their eggs and incubate their eggs. After that, small fishes emerge from their eggs and continue to rear in the first location. Followed by this, at some point in raised their growth, they travel downstream to estuary where they are raised constantly.
Following the estuary rearing period, salmons migrate to the large area where it is the ocean and they attain complete maturity. Finally, adult salmon go back to downstream where they grew up when they were young and the life cycle begins anew.
