The diagram below shows the process of collecting rain water for use in an Australian town.
Above diagram illustrate how drinking water is produced from rain water in an Australian town. Overall, there are four main stags in the transformation of rainwater into drinking water, where as the process begins with collecting the rainwater from houses and ends with treating the water with chemicals.
First of all, rain water is collected through the gutters of each and every house’s rooftop and travels through the vertical pipes to reach the drain. after that, collected water is passed to the water filter to undergo filtration, where a large amount of dust particles and impurities are removed from the water.
In the next stage, we can clearly see that the purified water is transferred to the underground water storage. Following this, the stored water is treated with chemical to eliminate the germs and infections. Finally, the water which comes after the treatment with chemicals, travels through the pipes to all the houses for public consumption.
