The diagram illustrates the cycle of water which happens on above and below the Earth’s surface.

To begin with, the water in the ocean evaporated, which caused by the heat produced by the sun, into the clouds above the ocean surface, in addition to that, ocean contributed about 60% of total water vapour in air. After the vapour water had already being condensed inside the clouds, the clouds were being blown away towards the mountains where also had snow. Because of that, clouds experienced a precipitation, where the clouds could not take all the water inside, and eventually started to pour heavily.

Some of the water would pile up into the lakes.Nonetheless, the remaining water would flow back into lower land due to the surface runoff with impervious layer, in order for the soil would not absorb the water. At the end, the water would be back to ocean and would have different concentration of salinity. Overall, this is a continuous cycle of water which will be happening every time.
