The given diagram illustrates the difference between the skeletons of two ancestors which derived from modern human beings.
By and large, the right skeleton has a small head, narrow chest and short neck when compared with the left skeleton. While the gluteus maximus at the right is bigger and the achilles tendon is longer than the left skeleton.
To begin with, Australopithecus has an unbalanced head with long snout, it is opposite Homo erectus who has balanced head with short snout. Moreover, the shoulders of the former are high and narrow while that of the latter are low and wide. There are also differences between the two waist of them when the left is short and wide and the right is tall and narrow.
To suit the tree climber characteristic, Australopithecus has a long forearm while the forearm of Homo erectus is short. Homo erectus is a walker and endurance runner therefore its foot skeleton is more convenient with larger hip, knee and ankle joints, shorter toes, more stabilized foot arch and the healboon was still enlarged more than Australopithecus.
