The diagram shows the life cycle of the silkworm and stages in the production of the Silk Cloth.
The first diagram illustrate life cycle of the moth, and second diagram shows steps involved in the formation of silk cloth. It is clear and coherent representation.
There are four main steps involved in the life cycle of silkworm; from eggs to adult moths. The process of silk cloth production consists of six steps; from selection to weaving.
At the first stage in the life cycle of silkworm, moths lay their eggs. After ten days later, they transform into larva, these larva feed themselves on mulberry leaves then, after four to six weeks larva starts winding themselves in silk thread which develope into complete cocoon after three to eight days. After sixteen days cocoon hatches and full grown moth emerges out of it.
For silk cloth production, selected cocoons are collected and then boiled. After boiling the cocoons are unwounded where each strand is nearly about three hundred to nine hundred meters long. Further, the strands are twisted which can either dyed and woven afterwards or woven first and then dyed susequently.
