The provided three maps illustrate how West Park secondary school developed from 1950 when it was built to 2010.
Overall, the most noticeable change that happened in the school is the construction of car park. However, a striking point was the houses and farmland had completely disappeared by 2010.
At the first glance, the school is quite small and located in the south of the main road. Although there were few of residential houses situated in the northwest corner in 1950, they were demolished in the year 1980 for building car park and science block. The farmland in the southwest of the map was also replaced to make sports field, while there was a maintenance of playground.
In the 1980-2010 period, car park was expanded dramatically whereas the sports field became smaller. Meanwhile, the playground was considerably narrowed in comparison with the previous period. In addition, science block was still existed in the middle of car park and main building.
