The 2 diagrams illustrate how a wave-energy machine operates and how it is located.
Overall, this wave-energy machine uses water levels and airflow at sea with a turbine generating electricity. Additionally, there are two location options for this machine which bring both benefits and drawbacks.
Looking at the first diagram, a wave machine is designed to have 2 chambers. The first and lowest one is used for allowing water levels and airflow in and out. The second chamber is equipped with a turbine which directly generates electric power. Specifically, when there are large waves, the water levels enter the first chamber rise which pushes a great amount of air up to the second chamber. Next, this airflow drives and turns the turbine on one side, the other side is turned by the airflow from the outside coming in. In this way, the turbine rotates and create electricity.
In terms of location, the machine located near the coast cost a low installation budget but bring out low output because of small waves. Adversely, locating far from the coast bring much larger waves and help the machine generate higher output. However, the second option needs much more installation costs than the first one.
