Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: “It is more important for students to study art and literature than it is to study math and science.” Provide reasons and examples to support your opinion.
There is no shortage of opinions on whether it is better for students to learn art and literature or math and science. In my opinion, I disagree with the statement, I think students will be more beneficial with science and math programs. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following paragraphs.
First of all, science and maths play an eminent role in understanding and advancing technology. Technology is everywhere it’s in our cars with safety features that navigate us to travel in fewer traffic roads. It is on our hands as gadgets like phones and wristwatches. Technology is immersed in our day to day life activities like dependance on a virtual assistant like alexa or Siri to set an alarm. Technological innovations can not be made possible without the involvement of science and math students. Usage of overflowing waste materials like plastic on seas and all over the land to solve the pollution problems. The invention of eco-friendly roads with the use of plastic and a mix of asphalt was made possible because of science and math students. For better creative ideas, it is greater for students to study science and math.
Secondly, Science and maths are ever-learning, it helps in the discovery of new genomes, vaccines, and new medicines for rare disorders. Thus play a pivotal role in saving lives and keeping everyone healthy. Learning Science and maths allows students to gain skills in anatomy, algebra, biology. Today’s physicians, technicians, paramedics professionals are once the students of math and science.. Drawing from my experience recently my father had an attack, physicians took hours to bring him to a normal situation. It’s certainly clear to see the fact that maths and science paved the path for emerging solutions in major issues. It is more important for students to learn science and math than art and literature.
In conclusion, students are younger and productive and involving them in growing fields like science and math makes great scientists and mathematicians for future generations. It further helps in saving the lives of the people.
