Eating sweet foods produces acid in the mouth, which can cause tooth decay. (High acid levels are measured by low pH values) ]Describe the information below and discuss the implications for dental health.

The line graph illustrates, consumption of sweet foods makes up production of acid level in mouth which may cause dental decay. Increasing acid level demonstrates diminishing pH value.

Overall, it is considered as acid level below 5.5 has more chance to get tooth problem. Whereas, acid level above 5.5 measures least chance of decay. As is observed, cane sugar has most significant item to produce dental decay within 5 minutes. While, honey produce less amount of acid in mouth.

Normal pH level of mouth is 7 while, after consumption of cane sugar acid level in mouth increase to 3.5 which is higher than the fruit sugar and honey. They remained in danger level up to 30 minutes which is a major causative factor of dental decay. However, cane sugar decrease the pH level to just below 4.5 in 5 minutes of time then there were gradual decrease in pH after 20 minutes which decrease acidity in mouth.

Regarding honey, the amount of pH level in mouth has approximately 5 which is remained constant for next five minutes after that there were a rapid decline of pH level as presented. Honey takes less than 15 minutes to control against pH level in mouth in contrast to sugars.
