The pie chart illustrates the frequency of usage of different appliances in Australia as compared to the greenhouse gases produced due to them.

Overall, there is a great use of heating while that of cooling is the least. On the contrary, the appliances owing the most to the greenhouse gas production is the water heating, whereas cooling contributes minimally to it.

Heating accounts for a spiking 42% of the total energy expenditure followed by water heating and refrigeration ( i.e 30% and 7% respectively). Owing to their high usage, they are mainly responsible for the release of greenhouse gases; water heating being at 32% and the remaining heating and refrigeration 15% and 14%.

However, due to the lesser usage of cooling and lighting ( 2% and 4%), their contribution towards the greenhouse gas emission remains at very low levels of 3% and 8%.

Moreover the use of other appliances is responsible for around 15% of the total usage whilst the gases released by them contributes for 28%.
