Essay topics:

The first graph shows the number of train passengers from 2000 to 2009; the second compares the percentage of trains running on time and target in the period.

The first line chart describes the figures for people who traveled by train between 2000 to 2009 (in million). Meanwhile, the second chart shows the proportion of trains being punctual in comparison with the goal.

It is clear that there was a fluctuation in the number of train passengers. Besides, the percentage of trains being on time was lower than the target.

Looking at the first chart, the number of train travelers was 35 million in 2000, then it increased significantly to 42 million in 2002. After that, the figure recovered to its initial point in 2003, before soaring to 45 million after two years. From 2005 to 2008, the number declined gradually to 40 million, after which it climbed again at the end of the period.

Turning to the second chart, at the beginning of the period, the percentage of trains running on time was under the target line, at 92%. Afterward, it grew to reach the goals at 95% in 2002 and continued climbing for 2 years to 96%. However, between 2004 and 2006, the proportion of trains experienced a downward trend, decreasing by 4%. Then, it soared to 97% in 2008 before staying stable in 2009.
