the chart compares the amount of water consumed in global in 3 main sectors (Agriculture, Industrial use and domestic use) during the period between 1900 and 2000. In addition, the table illustrates water used by 2 country which are Brazil and Congo in the year 2000.
Overall, the amount of global water use significantly increases from 1900 to 2000, while Agriculture sector consumes the vast majority of water in the world and the amount of water used for Domestic sector takes up a small part of total water. It is also noticeable that water used per a person in Brazil is much higher than one in Democractic Republic of Congo in 2000.
In 1900, around 500 Km3 water used for irrigating, which was as a fifth as water consumed by domestic and industrial sector. From 1900 to 2000, there was a strongly increase in the amount of water use for agriculture to approximately 3000 km3. In the same rise trend but not much, Industry Sector and Domestics slightly rose demands for water to around 500 Km3 and around 1000 Km3 respectively.
In 2000, the Brazil's population was 176 million, while this was just 5.2 million in Congo. Moreover, Brazin had 26,500 Km2 land used for irrigation which is as 265 times as the other one in Congo. Around 359m3 was consumed by one person in Brazil, however, this figure in Congo is 8m3.
