The pie chart illustrates the factors that lead to farming deterioration, and the table compares those issues in three different countries between 1990 - 2000.
Overall, there are four main activities, destroying farming in mankind history which most of them came from over-grazing. As well, compared to other countries on the list, Europe was affected at the highest level by those activities.
First of all, the listed activities, over-grazing, over-cultivation, deforestation and other, affected directly to farming in terms of less production. Over-grazing accounted for 35% of the total while over-cultivation and deforestation were about 30% each. The rest came from other factors at only 7%.
North America, Europe and Oceania were the sample areas that confronted these situations at different intensities. 23% of land in Europe were affected by these problems where deforestation, the most contribution, accounted for 9.8%. This was followed by Oceania, 11.3 of 13% of its land was low quality because of over-grazing. However, there was a minor effect in North America at only 5%, coming from 3.3% for over-cultivation, 0.2% for deforestation and 1.5% from over-grazing.
