The bar charts compare the number of students did not choose full-time work after finishing UK graduates and UK postgraduates in 2008.
Overall, the difference between both groups of students was the number of each option. However, they showed a similar trend, where most students decided on further study, but voluntary work was the least option.
According to the first graph, the number of graduate students who did not do full-time working was approximately 70,000 students. Further study where it was the most popular choice, was 29,655 students, while, only 3,500 students went into voluntary work which was the lowest among all options. Furthermore, part-time work and unemployment were similar in number at around 17,000 students.
Meanwhile, postgraduate students showed a similar trend, further study was flavored at first, 2,725 students. However, the proportion of part-time work increased significantly from graduate students, 2,535 students which almost overtook further study. Unemployment and voluntary remained stable in terms of percentage and position, but the number was only 1,625 and 345 respectively.
