The graph below gives information from Annual Energy Outlook 2008 about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projection until 2030.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graph compares different types of energy in terms of the consumption of the United State of America from 1980 to 2008, with projected use until 2030

It is clear that, fossil fuels have been used dominantly and keep being this trend in the future. While, renewable energy and nuclear have been much less applied into life by the given period, but it still gains small developments and keep being projected so far until 2030.

The highest demand was seen in proportion of Petrol and Oil consumption with 35 quadrillion units (35q) in 1980 then arising by 10q in 2008 and this trend is foreseen to get higher in projected value of 50q in 2030. In 1980, Natural Gas and Coal took second and third with approximately 20q and 16q respectively. Until 2008, the consumption of those energy experienced critical fluctuations then ended with similarly at 23q for both. According to projection until 2030, Coal will take over Natural Gas to stand in second, at approximately 30q and 25q individually.

With renewable energy and nuclear, there was a slightly rise in consumption only around 4q from 1980 and fluctuated up until 2008. By speculation to 2030, nuclear will become more popular and reach almost 10q, Solar/Wind around 5q, and Hydropower dropping and then remaining constant about 3q.
