The graph delineates the average carbon dioxide missions per person between 1967 and 2007. The data is provided for United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal. United Kingdom has the highest average emissions during the period whereas Portugal has the least average emissions. Emissions of Sweden and Italy lies in between the above mentioned areas.

The average emission of United Kingdom has a decreasing trend over the course of 40 years and the emissions lies in between 11 to 8.5 metric tonnes. In the case of Sweden, the emission increased from by a margin of 2 metric tonnes during the first 10 years and then started to decrease for the next 30 years by a margin of 5 metric tonnes. The trend is exactly opposite in the case of developing areas including Italy and Portugal. Over the course of 40 years, both Italy and Portugal have witnessed a linear increase around 3 and 4 metric tonnes respectively.
