Overall, large amounts of carbon dioxide was emitted in the UK, whilst the least was exhaled in Portugal. Similarly, Italy and Portugal had a steady increase for carbon dioxide emission rate throughout the period, as Sweden and UK experinced a decrease of carbon dioxide emitted by each person.
It is noticeable, high amount of carbon dioxide about 11metric tonnes was exhaled in the UK from 1967 to 1977, and began to decline gradually to around 9 metric tonnes in 2007. Portugal had the least average carbon dioxide emitted, at almost 1metric tonne in 1967 and increased steadily to around 5.7 metric tonnes in 2007. Generally, UK remained the nation with highest amount of carbon dioxide emitted throughout the period, whilst Portugal remained the least.
Furthermore, Sweden had an average carbon dioxide exhaled of approximately 8.2metric tonnes in 1967 and fluctuated sharply to almost 10.1metric tonnes in 1977, as a drastic fall to around 7metric tonnes was seen in 1987, it was superceded by further decline equated to Portugal of about 5.7metric tonnes in 2007. Whereas, Italy experienced a rapid increase from 4.1metric in 1967, followed by a slow rise of about 7metric tonnes above Sweden in 1987, as it remained constant, thereafter upto 2007, at around 7.8metric tonnes.
