Essay topics:

The graph below shows the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emission per person in the united kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make the comparison where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the mean carbon dioxide extraction per individual in the UK, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from 1967 to 2007.

Overall, UK is top carbon releasing nation of all time followed by Italy, Sweden and Portugal till final year. UK and Sweden shows a declining pattern whereas Italy and Portugal follows uprising trend.

UK tops the chart of all time among the countries releasing carbon. The average emission of about 11 metric tons was recorded in 1967, however, the emission decreases gradually afterward to 9 metric tons in 2007. Sweden has a highly fluctuating emission pattern with 9 metric tons in 1967. The emission shoots up to 11 metric tons in 1977 and drops dramatically to 7 metric tons in 1987 and further declines to about 5 metric tons in the final year.

On the contrary, Italy and Portugal depicts a gradual increasing trend. Starting with a initial emission of just above 4 metric tons in 1967, Italy stands as the second largest carbon emitting nation, releasing just below 8 metric tons in the final year. Similarly, Portugal with a initial discharge of just below 2 metric tons, increases smoothly till 1997 to about 5 metric tons and shows steady discharge thereafter.
