Essay topics:

The graph below shows the average monthly change in the prices of three metals during 2014. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The provided line chart elucidates the monthly fluctuation in the prices of three types of metals, encompassing Copper, Nickel and Zinc over the 12-month period of 2014.
Overall, it is evident that there were two trends during the course of 2014, including a decrease in the costs of all three categories over the first half of year until June and the following recovery of them until the end of 2014.
In the first half of 2014, there was a downward trend in the prices of three kinds of metals. While nickel saw the most dramatic decline from 6 percent in price change to 1 percent, compared to the decrease of 1 percent in the price of copper, only Zinc increased 2 percent from 1 percent in January to 3 percent in March. After a slight decrease of all three types of medals over the next 3 months in 2014, copper, nickel and zinc reached the deepest points in June, -0,5 percent, -1 percent and -3 percent respectively.
After the period of downward trend in the prices of three categories, they started to recover from July of 2014 and remained stable over the next three months. Copper, Nickel and Zinc stayed at point of 1 percent, -0.5 per cent and -1 percent respectively from July to September, ultimately rose in November and December and peaked at 2 percent, 1.5 percent and 1 percent respectively.
