The line graph illustrates the changes in using three types of transport which are car, bus and train in the UK from 1970 to 2030. Overall, we can see that there are substantial rises in commuting car and train whereas bus has an opposite trend.

As the graph shows, the number of car users almost stood at 5 million people until 1980 before increasing significantly to about 7 million in 2000. However, the figure for using car was stable again from 2000 to 2010. Fortunately, there was a good growth after unchanged period. Following this, that number is predicted to peak at 9 million in 2030. Similarly, the number of train users increased steadily from 2 million in 1970 to 3 million in 2000 before remaining constant from 2000 to 2010. Then, it is expected to reach 5 million in 2030 because there was a considerable jump after 2010.

In contrast, the number of people who commute by bus showed a slight decrease from 4 million in 1970 to 3.5 in 2010. Furthermore, it continued to decline during the later period. Thus, the fall is forecast to go down to under 3 million.
