The graph below shows the average number of Vietnamese students studying in France, Russia and America between 2000 and 2015.

The line chart compares the figure for Vietnamese students studying in three foreign countries namely France, Russia and America over a period of 15 years, starting from 2000.
It is clear that while the number of students studying in France and America showed an overall upward trend over the period shown, the opposite was true for that of Russia. Also, the quantity of Vietnamese students in America witnessed the most dramatic change.
In 2000, about 3.5 million of Vietnamese students arrived in France to study while the figures for students studying in Russia and France were 3 million and 1.5 million respectively. Over the period of five years, there was a steady fall by around 1 million in the number of people studying in France and Russia. By contrast, the quantity of Vietnamese students studying in America showed a constant growth to about 2 million.
From 2005 to 2010, the number of overseas students in France remained stable before experiencing a significant increase to over 4 million in 2015. Additionally, the figure for Vietnamese students in Russia decreased gradually and hit the lowest point of below 2 million in 2010, but later recovered to about 2.5 million in 2015. At the same time, there was a dramatic rise to 5 million in the number of students studying in America and this country also attracted the most Vietnamese students among three.
